I know, I couldn't write long time. Because I was very very very busy :D I had many exams for university. in addition I researched information for my thesis. My these is about "monoclonal antibody production". Monoclonal antibody production is very popular. I think you guessed today's topic. I want to write about monoclonal antibody production today.
Firstly what is the monoclonal antibody? Why did scientists produce "monoclonal antibody" ? People have immune system as you know. Immune system is preserved people. if a microorganism enter to body, immune system produce to antibody. An antibody is specific to an antigen. What is it mean? Antibodies are selected. Antigens have "epitope (determinant)". One antibody can link to one epitope. That means immune system produces many antibodies for one antigen.
Scientists injected to animals (horse, pig etc.) using antigens. As the result of injecting using antigens, animal immune system produced antibodies. The scientist purifies antibodies. These antibodies names are "polyclonal antibody". There are 2 problem about polyclonal antibodies: First is there aren't enough antibody for an epitope. Second problem is they aren't enough pure. That is way scientists want to produce enough pure and enough amount antibody. Finally they produced "monoclonal antibody".I will continue writing about monoclonal antibody.
Goodbye and take care you!
