General Information About Cancer

  Hi,

  

 Human body is occurred by cells. Tissue occur in result  of cell division. I prepared general schema about formation of the human body.

  If you look this schema, you can understand importance of cell. Cell is main component in human body . Cell division is very important for human body. Normal cells are divided in a controlled manner. İf the division of cell  is  not normally , cell pellets occur .  Cell pellets are named "neoplasm".

  There are 2 type of neoplasms. They are named benign or malign.  Benign neoplasm don't invade  other tissues. For instance, warts are benign neoplasms. Malign neoplasms can spread to human body   by blood or lymphatic system. This neoplasm type is danger.

  Why is the cancer dangerous disease? Immune system is very important for us. Because immune system protect to us from diseases. Cancer impacts to immune system. Also neoplasms consume energy. If a human is cancer, flu even is very dangerous for this human. Because, this person's immune system is weak.

Batch Reactor

Hi, 

How are you ? 

I want to continue writing about bioreactor.

Batch reactor is kinds of reactors.  Batch reactors are  worked that way :Firstly reactants are put into to batch reactor. Then particular  time is waited. When time is finished, the product is took.There are some disadvantages in batch reactors. For example; difficult to produce large scale production. Because mass transfer is difficult in these large reactors. The stirrer is used in batch reactor, mass transfer problem is removed.Of course the problem is not removed exactly.The other problem is heat transfer. Therefore different heat transfer systems are used for  these reactors.

On the other hand there are some advantages of batch reactors. Some advantages of batch reactors: Easy to clean. High conversions is provided.

By the way there are design equations for batch reactor. I want to add them next times.

Bioreactors

Hi,

Nowadays I have got design homework.  Actually I am a member of a team. Our project is "designing  reactor". Therefore we are very busy. Because, we try to find materials for reactor. İf we find all materials, we will join all materials. We found almost materials. İf we finish this project, I want to add pictures of  reactor.

Reactor is a device for  product production .Chemical reactions are carried out in reactors. For example, ethanol production, antibiotic production, enzyme production, protein production are carried out  by using microorganism .

Generally bioengineers use microorganisms for production. For this reason  selection of microorganism is very important.Bioengineers must know  characteristics of microorganisms for selection of microorganisms. 

                      

                              

  The production is carried out in bioreactor. I added a video about production of biofuels. This video can give you an idea of ​​the bioreactor.Bioreactors are very wide topics. I want to write informations about bioreactors.

Stem Cells

Hi,

Stem cell is very popular topic  nowadays. Why is the stem cell very popular ?Do you know it?

Stem cells present in human body. They divide by mitosis. Stem cells can specialize and they can convert to special cell types.For example; skin cell, heart cell etc.

Nowadays scientists research about stem cells. Some loss of limbs  are treated by using stem cells. When I participated in a congress last year, I  watched a video about stem cell treatments . The doctor explained this video. There was a girl in this  video. She had got eye disease. The doctor used  stem cells treatment  for this girl. The treatment is gave good result. 

I added a video about stem cells. There are general informations about stem cells in this video.

Stem cells are treated another diseases by using doctors. I will add news and videos about stem cells.

The News About Treatment of Deafness

Hello,
Scientists research by using stem cells. I read a news about embryonic stem cells.

İf a person loses   specialized nerve cells in his ears, he will be  deaf. Because, nerve cells transmit signals to brain. Therefore scientists research specialized nerve cells (in ears).They used deaf adults gerbils.

Embriyonic stem cells were transplanted to deaf adults gerbils ears. Then scientists reported good developments. These researchers are University of Sheffield in England. Probably deafness will be treat next years.

Dermaglyphs

   Dermaglyphs are special shapes in our body. They are in our hands and our feets.Dermaglyphs occur  "epidermis".While we are in my mother's abdomen,dermaglyphs have been formed.Firstly dermaglyphs occur in our hands. Dermaglyphs occur in our feets after 2-3 week.Some genetic diseases are diagnosed by using dermaglyphs.For example down syndrome.

                                 

    Also fingerprints were occurred from dermaglyphs.I think,  you hear that: everybody's fingerprints are different each other. Reason for the difference "dermaglyphs".Because, dermaglyphs occurrence relate genes.

  Hello,

  I found a video on the net  about immune system. İf you watch this video, you can see hemoglobin cells, microorganisms, immune cells. Immune system  is very complex system.

 Anticors are immune system cells.Anticors are produced by B-cells.Anticor's shape is Y. Anticor's other name is "antibody". There are 5 kinds of anticors.They are IgA, IgD, IgE, IgM, IgG.They are glycoproteins.They protect to us foreign from things. For example; bacteria, virus.

  Actually immune system are very long topic. I don t want to write more. Because I don t want to be boring. I will write about this topic other times.

DNA Structure

   Again Hi,

  This post is second for my blog. I added a video about  DNA structure. I think this is a good video. Because if you watch this video,you can see DNA structure 3d. The speaker explain DNA structure through video.

  I want to write some base informations .DNA model is double helix. DNA occurs two strands. Adenine,guanine,thymine and cytosine are components of DNA. These components are attached by hydrogen bonds to each other. There is an important points about DNA components.Adenine and  thymine bind to each other by hydrogen bonds. Guanine and  cytosine bind to each other by hydrogen bonds.Other components of DNA are deoxyribose sugar and phosphate. 

   By the way I want to add another video or articles about DNA next times.You know, DNA is very complex . It has got excellent structure.

  Finally, I like animations about biology.  According to me, if you watch  videos, you can learn easily.
